LUCA MORETTO’S “MARILYN MURRINA POP” BACK TO MILAN UNTIL THE END OF EXPO

The lamp, turned into a work of art, will be on show at the “Staygreen Showroom” in the heart of Milan’s Fashion District, the Quadrilatero della Moda e del lusso, at via Pontaccio, 19

A sculpture that was born from the ever fertile meeting of art and design. It all starts with an object, a cardboard lamp produced by Staygreen Venezia, designed by Roberto Pamio+Partners’s studio. The Marilyn, which is 2.60m high and 1.80m large, is the flagship product of the company for both its dimensions and visual impact.

Luca Moretto was asked by the company - based in Noale, Venice - to interpret the object and to put it on show during the Milan Design Week, at the Brera Design District. In order to put this project into action, it was also necessary to find another partner, who could answer to the request – not a small one for Staygreen – for silicone material that could stay as much as possible within a standard of low environmental impact. This has been possible with the involvement of the Swiss multinational corporation Mungo, a leading company in fixing systems that produces high quality silicone materials. Mungo manufactures certified silicone that minimise environmental impact and the company is also among the suppliers of building materials for Expo’s infrastructures.

This is how the project came to light, and the artworks produced from recycled cardboard and wood fibre by Staygreen were emphasised by Luca Moretto’s silicone art, through the “LEED mapped®” silicones by the Swiss Mungo.

But Luca Moretto’s Fuorisalone experience went beyond that: Saratoga Spa also selected him for a task to start with Fuorisalone and to end on the first week of Expo.
This was the case with the successful exhibit at the Spazio Tadini gallery, a cultural place dedicated to the Maestro Emilio Tadini that was originally his home and studio, where he worked in the Ventura-Lambrate district of Milan. The exhibit, a personal one expanding on a 200 sq. m. area, unfolded Luca Moretto’s expertise along the years, his production and his poetics. A small installation, with the Work’s and sculpture “SINTESI”, the two “Murrina Cube” on show for the very first time, the Bugatti B35, his works on canvas and the Radici SilicoAvventizie© artworks.

Luca Moretto had already started his collaboration with the Sforza family and their “Saratoga” Group / Company in 2014, with a successful project: the Bugatti B35 Color Drops – White Edition.
The artist and the most renowned silicone company in Italy - known not only to specialists in the building and interior design sectors but also to the general public - thus set up a complete and thrilling exhibit, along a path of colours and tactile art, from canvases to sculptures to the installations with the silicone “Roots”.

The only piece of artwork missing on display was the by now famous Vespa Venice, that opened a series of fortunate exhibitions for Luca Moretto, starting exactly from the Fuorisalone 2011, in via Tortona. Vespa Venice is today on permanent display since 2012 at the Museo Piaggio.
